Si Aston Martin cumple su centenario y la Scuderia Ferrari también se encuentra en plenas celebraciones de los noventa años de su creación, la cita británica suele ser el epicentro del automovilismo durante este inicio del mes de julio en un evento que cubre prácticamente todo el espectro en cuanto a filias de todos los aficionados a los automóviles. Toyota estrenará su Concept GT4, Porsche mostrará su nuevo 911 RSR GTE. Bienvenidos al territorio de Lord March, bienvenidos al Festival de la Velocidad
La acción que comenzará ya durante el jueves, desde las 10 de la mañana (hora peninsular española), se desarrollará al alimón entre dos áreas: la tradicional subida y “The Arena”, la sección en la que los pilotos de drift (Mad Mike estrenará su Lamborghini, destacable para un piloto que siempre ha estado ligado a Mazda) y los de rallyes tendrán su cuota de protagonismo en un año en el que también se celebran las cuatro décadas de existencia del Mundial. El domingo se celebrará el shootout, con el Volkswagen ID. R Pikes Peak como principal invitado en lo que puede ser el asalto al récord absoluto de la prueba. Apenas nueve curvas y menos de dos kilómetros para desplegar todo el potencial del prototipo alimentado por baterías de los germanos.
